This site is free to use because some of the companies listed on it pay us. This page explains exactly how that works.

The disclosure

Some links on this website are affiliate links. If you follow one and open an account, apply for a product or make a purchase, we may be paid a commission by that company. You pay nothing extra — the commission comes out of the provider’s marketing budget, not your rate or your premium.

This is disclosed under the FTC Endorsement Guides in the United States, the EU Omnibus Directive in Europe, and equivalent advertising rules in the markets we serve.

How we mark them

Commercial links carry the rel attributes sponsored and nofollow, and there is a visible disclosure notice above every list of providers on this site. Outbound commercial links route through a redirect path so they are consistently marked.

What commission does not buy

It does not buy ranking. The order providers appear in is not for sale. A provider that pays us more does not move up.

It does not change the numbers. Rates, limits and terms are taken from what the provider publishes. We do not present a product as cheaper or more generous than its own terms say it is.

It does not buy a review. If a product has a weakness that matters, we say so, whether or not there is a commission attached.

What we cannot promise

We are funded by commission, and no disclosure makes that conflict of interest disappear. What we can do is name it plainly, keep it out of the ranking, and publish the provider’s own figures rather than our impression of them. Judge us on whether the numbers match the provider’s terms — and tell us when they do not.

Products with no commission

Some products we list pay us nothing. We include them when they are relevant to the comparison. We do not mark them differently, because the presence or absence of a commission is not information you should have to weigh when choosing a financial product.
